Help

The questions we hear most. Anything else — email info@claybench.app and a human (the one who built this) answers.

How do refunds work for classes and purchases?
Classes, pottery, passes, and gift cards are sold by the studio, so refund requests start with the studio — their contact details are on their Claybench page. If a studio cancels a class you paid for online, you’re entitled to a refund or a credit. The full picture, including Claybench subscription refunds, is in the refund policy.
When do payouts from sales and bookings arrive?
Money from your storefront, classes, and register goes straight to your bank through Stripe. Payouts run on a rolling schedule — most arrive about two business days after the charge, and Stripe holds the very first payout a little longer while it verifies your account. See the status of your payout account anytime under Billing → Payouts in your studio.
How do I connect my kiln?
Studios with a Bartlett Genesis controller (Skutt touchscreen models and others) can feed live firing data onto the Bench — your kiln pushes readings over your own network through a small bridge, no cloud account or credentials required. Fair warning: setting up the bridge is hands-on right now. Email info@claybench.app and we’ll get you running together; once it’s up, your kiln appears under Studio → Kilns with live readings on the Bench.
How do my students see their classes?
Students book on your studio’s public page — no account needed at checkout. Their booking confirmation email includes a link to a personal “Your classes” page with their schedule, class passes, and memberships across every studio they attend.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Under Billing in your studio you can switch plans (changes prorate through Stripe) or cancel — you keep access through the end of the period you paid for. First two weeks and it’s not for you? We’ll refund the charge; see the refund policy.
How do I take card payments at the register (POS)?
Cash and gift-card sales work at the register with no hardware. For cards you pair a Stripe Terminal reader — a WisePOS E, Stripe Reader S700, or Verifone P400. Buy one from Stripe, then in POS → Cardenter the reader’s registration code to pair it. The register drives the reader over the internet, so it doesn’t need to share a local network with your computer. Card payments also require payouts (Billing → Payouts); cash and gift cards don’t.
